Major name-brand tax filing services have been quietly transmitting sensitive financial information to Facebook/Meta when Americans file their taxes online. When asked about this, most (all?) of them made statements, paraphrased, along the lines of "we didn't know it was doing that" and "we take our clients privacy seriously so we are taking the pixel down" — is this what we've come to?
